We connect more than 1m business customers and public sector organisations with our extensive portfolio of communications and IT solutions. We also provide network products and services to communications providers operating in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

BT Small Business Support Scheme

We’ve introduced an unprecedented package of support to help the UK’s 5.8m small businesses get better positioned for recovery and growth following the coronavirus outbreak and as they prepare for a post-Brexit future.

  • Business customers and public sector organisations

Our customers range from big household names, government departments and public service organisations right through to small businesses and new start-ups. We cover both the communications and IT services markets. Overall, we’re focused on four main product markets: Fixed Voice; Mobility; Fibre and connectivity; Networked IT services. All of these services are provided over the biggest UK network in both fixed and mobile communications. We also provide networked IT services to corporate and public sector organisations in the Republic of Ireland.

We expect these markets to increasingly converge over the next few years as technology and customer needs change. And, as they do, we see an opportunity to grow our share of the mobility and IT services markets.

The solutions we provide continue to play a significant role in the ongoing digitisation of public services, and for businesses large and small. We are focused on strengthening our regional presence so we can deliver local, personalised customer experiences, while driving growth in our converged portfolio and expanding our market share for mobility, IT and managed services.

  • Wholesale customers & specialist businesses

Our Wholesale business helps communications providers (CPs) and other organisations provide fixed or mobile phone services. It’s also home to some specialist, mass-market services, including our payphones and Gigabit Wi-Fi enabled Street Hubs, Directories, and the Voice Commercial services which all have Wholesale customers at their core or are standalone businesses.

Within our wholesale operation, we provide fixed network services to more than 1,400 customers including Sky, Talk Talk, Telefonica O2, Three and Virgin Media – and overseas CPs operating in the UK. We also help Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) offer their own-branded mobile services and plans via our award-winning EE mobile network.

We provide specialist media and broadcast services to companies in the UK and globally, including the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Sky, Premier League Productions and Viacom18.

Our specialist call centre teams handle millions of 999 and directory enquiry calls, as well as the next generation text calls that support deaf, hard of hearing or speech-impaired people.

As the leading business communications provider with the best fixed and mobile networks in the UK, we’re in a unique position to bring converged network and IT services to businesses and public services in the UK and Ireland. With BT’s Enterprise unit underpinning the delivery of essential public services, we’re proud of our role as a critical national enabler. And as the technology partner of choice for 1.2 million business and public sector customers, we’re on a mission to improve their productivity, performance and processes through the power of digital transformation.
