We asked Unman, one of our service desk analysts in India, what it’s been like to join BT during the pandemic

How did you find the overall experience of joining BT?

Whilst the economy was struggling from the crippling impact of the coronavirus, BT came into my life.  The entire process of applying to the job to getting selected was very smooth.

I’ve got some great and humble colleagues who are always there to help, and I really love the atmosphere. I am really liking it so far and I am looking forward to grow with this organization.

The on boarding process was all virtual, and the equipment provided by BT was great. I was so happy when we were given the newest Lenovo laptop and a branded laptop back, as well as a wireless headset. There was great support from managers; BT has always been concerned about the safety of every single employee.

And, how can I forget the awesome food provided by BT?

How have things been since you joined?

I really liked the User Interface and User Experience of the training page, as well as the BT Intranet page. I found out about BT Academy where we can upskill ourselves which is really great. I have already enrolled for courses; it’s a great initiative.

In addition, I am about to enrol for volunteering programmes and webinars which BT runs every month.

I’m really enjoying the Fun Fridays, and I really like how my managers are always motivating us to participate. I won the third prize for ethnic dress along with “sketching my manager” competition which was nice. There are also extra social activities outside of work; I’m wanting to join the BT Football Team. Even now, in this pandemic where outdoor games are not possible, we’ll be going tor online games. It’s another exciting thing as I have never heard of this.

Would you recommend BT as a place to work?

Yes, no doubt about this. I’ve already recommended many colleagues and some have already gone through the interview process. One thing I would like to highlight, there is remarkable support in terms of finding available jobs and referring people. I really like the emails that comes by every day with internal job postings.
