What is BT Sport Connected Red Button?

BT Sport Connected Red Button (CRB) lets BT TV YouView customers access a wealth of on-screen BT Sport football statistics for our best-ever interactive football viewing experience.

Specifically designed for Champions League, a simple press of the red button overlays key match stats for all the live action. You don't have to tune away from watching a favourite team, log on to a different device, or remember multiple channel numbers. And CRB also supports HD and Ultra HD viewing.

You'll get one-click access to:

  • Live scores of every BT Sport match in progress
  • Pre-match stats: group tables, pre-match form, starting line-ups
  • In-match stats: match timelines, goals, red cards, penalties, substitutions, ball-possession, shot-accuracy, fouls
  • Post-match stats: final scores, group standings, finishing line-ups, ball-possession, etc

CRB also lets you watch BT Sport matches in full-screen view with pop-up alerts, which provide a heads-up on every goal as it goes in, and even allows channel-changes directly from pop-up alerts.

To launch CRB, wait until the red button icon appears in the top-right of your screen, then press [red] on your YouView remote control.

CRB only works on BT Sport Extra programmes that have it. You can search for 'BT Sport Extra' channels in the YouView Programme Guide.

These are special 'red button' channels which broadcast only at certain times. We use them to broadcast extra live sports events when there are clashes in the schedule.

You can access the BT Sport Extra channels in two ways. Either through your YouView Programme Guide (search for 'BT Sport Extra'), or by pressing the red button on your remote when you see the icon in the corner of a BT Sport programme you're watching.

BT Sport Extra channels can be recorded like any other channel.

Simply use the buttons on your YouView remote control:

[Red] launches CRB whenever the BT Sport red button icon is, or has been, on-screen

[Left/Right] scrolls through the Match Tiles on the top-bar

[Up/Down] scrolls through the Match Stats pages on the left side-bar

[Ok] channel-changes the Rescaled Video Window to the match at the top-left corner of your screen

[Red] toggles within CRB between Match Stats view and Full-screen view with Pop-up Alerts

[Green] channel-changes from a Pop-up Alert to the corresponding match video

[Close] exits CRB, stopping any Pop-up Alerts

  1. Scroll the top-bar until the match you want to record is in the top-left corner
  2. Press [OK] to channel-change the required match to the Rescaled Video Window
  3. Press [Record] to start the recording

Once the recording has started, you can then safely change to another channel without affecting the recording.

You can turn pop-up alerts on and off at any time by:

  1. Scrolling the top-bar until the 'Settings' tile is in the top-left corner
  2. Follow the instructions shown on the side-bar

CRB will remember your alerts setting until the next time you change it.

Whenever you switch to full-screen view, an on-screen bell icon will briefly remind you that pop-up alerts are switched on.

You'll first need a BT Sport HD subscription. Simply tune to the BT Sport HD channel you want to watch, wait for the red button icon to show, then press red to launch CRB. All matches shown in HD will then automatically play in HD.

You can subscribe to the BT Sport HD Pack at www.btcom.ll-digital-sandbx1.bt.com/sport > or by calling 0800 800 150.

You'll first need a BT Sport Ultra HD subscription. Simply tune to the BT Sport Ultra HD channel, wait for the red button icon to display, then press red to launch CRB. Any match available in Ultra HD will then automatically play in Ultra HD, the others in HD.

You can subscribe to BT Sport Ultra HD at www.btcom.ll-digital-sandbx1.bt.com/sport > or by calling 0800 800 150.

Make sure you're watching a BT Sport channel that's currently broadcasting CRB content. You can find times of BT Sport Extra programmes by searching for 'BT Sport Extra' in your YouView Programme Guide.

When you see the red button icon appear in the top right of your screen, press red on your YouView remote control to launch CRB.

Yes, simply by pressing red on your Sky remote whenever the red button appears on a BT Sport channel. However, red button content for Sky customers is only available in SD not HD. And the Connected Red Button interface is not available: to access both these features you must subscribe to BT Sport on BT TV.
