I've just got a text from 61998 or 60204. Is this a genuine message from BT or is it spam?

Yes, text messages from 61998 or 60204 are genuinely sent by BT. We might use these numbers if we’ve found an issue with your service. Or in response to something you've done with us recently, like placing an order or reporting a fault.

It's one of the ways we keep you up to speed with what's going on. But if you'd prefer not to receive any text messages from us, just text STOP to 61998 or 60204.

If you get a message from us and you message us back we won't charge you for this, it's free. But other network providers may charge you at their standard rate or include the message in your allowance. Contact your network provider for more details.
