New way of logging in from 26 June 2019
On 26 June 2019, we're changing the way you log in to your True Key password manager.
For PCs and Macs, you'll no longer be able to use the face and fingerprint recognition factor to log in. If you're using this, you'll need to switch to another factor before 26 June.
On iPhones and Android devices, you'll no longer be able to use the face recognition factor to log in. However, on iPhone 10 and above, you'll now be able to use Apple Face ID
We'll send you an email in May to remind you about the changes.
What do I need to do?
The update will happen automatically so you won't need to do anything. When it happens, you'll still be able to sign in with your Master Password. If you've forgotten it, you can reset it now.

How to use your Master Password
Your Master Password is one of the factors used to encrypt and decrypt your data. It allows you to access all the important infromation you've stored in your True Key app. Despite the changes to the way you sign in, you'll still need your Master Password and it won't be changed.
If you've forgotten your Master Password, you'll be prompted to reset it. The current Master Password reset asks you to provide either face or fingerprint and a trusted device for authentication. However, if you only have one device or a device that doesn't have a camera or fingerprint reader, this might be difficult. To make things easier, the new Master Password reset will only ask for:
- The trusted device - this is the device that you were last logged into using True Key
- The trusted email - this is the email address you provided when you set up your True Key account
What do I need to do?
The update will happen automatically so you won't have to do anything.

Learn more about True Key
True Key by McAfee is a free password manager app. It works quietly in the background to make your current passwords stronger, remembers them and instantly logs you in, so you don’t have to. It works across all platforms and syncs to all your desktop (Windows 7+ and Mac) and mobile (Android and iOS) devices.
Profile data is encrypted locally using the strongest encryption available. Only you have access to decrypt and unlock information using factors unique to you.
Your encrypted True Key data is stored on a secure True Key server. The only way this information is accessed is with factors that are unique to you, including your facial math or Master Password.
True Key doesn't track websites you've accessed, other than to collect anonymous performance data of the auto-filled feature on some websites to help improve the service.
No, the True Key service doesn't sell or share any of your information to a third party.
Always secure your computers and mobile devices with a PIN or password to keep it safe from unwanted users. If your device is stolen and you logged out of the True Key app, you’re fine.
Set up the True Key app to log out automatically after a set period of time for extra safety. Go to 'Settings' to customize your log out preferences.
If you have an Android mobile phone or tablet, you can use BT Virus Protect app for anti-theft.
