Mar 26Canelo vs Plant weigh-in: Date, time and how to watch for free on BT Sport
How to watch the live weigh-ins as Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant come face-to-face for the final time ahead of their unmissable undisputed super-middleweight showdown on BT Sport Box Office HD this Saturday night.
Scores will be settled in the squared circle this weekend when Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant put their super-middleweight belts on the line in pursuit of being crowned undisputed king of the 168lb division.
Neither fighter has a history of missing weight, so with a little luck there should be no drama expected when the two fighters climb aboard the scales.
Tune in to watch the weigh-ins for free through the embedded live stream above from 8pm UK time on Friday 5 November.
WBO, WBA and WBC king Canelo enters this contest, his fourth inside 12 months, as the red-hot favourite to etch his name in the history books forever.
The Mexican superstar, who has won world titles across four weight divisions during an already-legendary career, is in the prime physical condition of his life and looks like he will take some beating.
But IBF champion Plant has not come to roll over and retains his own ambitions of becoming the first four-belt super-middleweight champion in history.
If you want something, then you’ve got to believe it
- Caleb Plant
Plant has made three defences of the world title he first won during a convincing 12-round decision win over Jose Uzcategui in January 2019, most recently against Caleb Truax at the turn of the year.
A fighter renowned for his technical ability more than fight-ending power, Plant can still bang, and has 12 knockouts from his 21 wins.
Speaking to The Guardian’s Don McCrae this week, the talented 29-year-old said: “We’re not just up here keeping our fingers crossed hoping that things turn out how they should.
“That’s not how life works. If you want something, then you’ve got to believe it and you’ve got to feel it in your heart. But you got to work for it. You go through things in life but if you put enough work in then eventually you feel indestructible.
“That’s the point where I’m at in my life, where I feel like I can conquer anything and everything.”
I think that Plant’s got a very good boxing brain
- Billy Joe Saunders
Plant’s cause was given a boost by an unikely source this week as Canelo’s last opponent, Britain’s Billy Joe Saunders, gave his assessment of Saturday night’s contest during an appearance on talkSPORT.
“I don’t think [Canelo] is the invincible man,” Saunders said. “I think that Plant’s got a very good boxing brain, he just needs to maintain his distance.
“Make sure you’re out of distance, don’t just think you’re out of distance because that’s the difference when you’re in with world level and elite [level].
“He’s gotta make sure to be on his game all the way, I think he’s gonna give Canelo a good fight.”
Can Plant upset the odds – or will Canelo cruise to another historic victory at the MGM Grand Arena on Saturday night?
