June on BT Sport: Gallagher Premiership finals, world championship boxing and unmissable test cricket headline a thrilling month of sport

The summer is here on BT Sport and we’ve got an unmissable slate of live action to keep you glued to your screens throughout June.

From the conclusion of the domestic rugby season to Daniel Dubois’ much-anticipated ring return – and even some international test cricket, we’ve got all bases covered over the next few weeks.

Here are the events you can’t afford to miss...

Gallagher Premiership

Just a few games remain as the Gallagher Premiership season enters the home straight – and there is plenty at stake for teams up and down the league.

Table-toppers Bristol Bears and defending champions Exeter Chiefs are assured of a place in the playoffs with Sale Sharks and Harlequins joining them.

With fans permitted back in stadiums for what promises to be a scintillating round of play-offs, there will be extra incentive for the teams battling it out at the top to try and secure home advantage for the semi-finals.

The race for Champions Cup rugby could also produce some interesting battles over the coming weeks with the top eight qualifying for next year’s tournament.

Just nine points separate Leicester Tigers in sixth to Newcastle Falcons in 11th with London Irish, Wasps and Bath all in contention to make it into Europe’s top club rugby competition.

Players will be keen to impress in the final few weeks of the season in the knowledge that England head coach Eddie Jones will be on the lookout for players to step up and replace the 11 players heading on this summer’s Lions tour for England’s forthcoming tests against Canada and the USA.

The regular season concludes with a final round of fixtures kicking off at 3pm on Saturday 12 June – and you can keep across every single game exclusively live on the BT Sport network to stay apace with the drama as it unfolds.

The following weekend, on Friday 18 June and Saturday 19 June, we’ll bring you the Premiership semi-finals before the Twickenham showpiece on Saturday 26 June.

World championship boxing

Daniel Dubois headlines a cracking night of boxing as he challenges Romanian powerhouse Bogdan Dinu for the vacant WBA interim heavyweight championship on his long-awaited return to the ring.

The previously undefeated prospect was handed a devastating blow when Joe Joyce inflicted the first defeat of his fledgling career during a cracking domestic bust-up in November.

It was a punishing defeat that left the 23-year-old not only with a fractured eye socket but with dented pride to boot.

"The last time I lost was an amateur, it was a good few years ago, when I was 16, probably,” Dubois explained.

“When you are a pro and the whole world is getting to see your vulnerabilities, it is interesting, you know. It is a proper sport this boxing.

"You have to ride with it and now I am back again and ready to come back stronger. I've looked at it, examined it, now I am ready to push on again, iron out my mistakes and put it right."

Now teamed up with highly regarded trainer Shane McGuigan, who has steered the likes of Carl Frampton, George Groves, Josh Taylor and Lawrence Okolie to world championship glory, Dubois find himself in the perfect position to make an immediate return to the upper echelons of the division.

Standing in the way of his plans to become the interim WBA world champion, the 34-year-old Dinu should provide Dubois with a stern test on his comeback.

The man from Bucharest has only been beaten twice in his 22 professional bouts, losing to elite competitors in Jarrell Miller and Kubrat Pulev.

With 16 knockouts from his remaining 20 wins, Dinu is heavy-handed and will not come to lie down given the promise of bigger and better things that awaits the winner.

UFC

It’s strap season in the Ultimate Fighting Championship this summer!

With four cracking cards stretched across the month, including a belter at UFC 263 in Phoenix, Arizona, BT Sport is the home of MMA throughout June.

We kick things off with a Fight Night dominated by the heavyweights as Jairzinho Rozenstruik takes on Augusto Sakai on June 5.

They’ll be supported by an explosive co-main as Walt Harris looks to bounce back from his most recent loss with a destructive win over Marcin Tybura.

A week later it’s the big one as UFC 263 rolls into town!

We’ll have you covered for all the build-up heading into what promises to be a memorable night from the Gila River Arena.

Join Michael Bisping, Adam Catterall and Nick Peet to preview the card on another episode of Fight Week, dropping Monday 7 June.

Dan Hardy’s Breakdown Show also returns as the former welterweight title challenger takes a closer look at the main event between Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori.

Birmingham man Leon Edwards finally gets his hands on Nate Diaz in a must-see five-round welterweight war while Deiveson Figueiredo defends his flyweight title in a rematch against Brandon Moreno in the other two notable bouts on the card.

And once the dust has settled on a stellar night of fights, Bisping, Catterall and Peet will be back on your screens on Sunday 13 June with a special review show looking back at the results from a cracking evening across the pond.

The following weekend, The Korean Zombie returns to action in a featherweight main event versus Dan Ige before we round off the month on Saturday 26 June with another card headlined by two heavyweights, Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov.

MotoGP

It’s shaping up to be another incredible season of MotoGP racing on BT Sport and we’ve got three more races to bring you throughout June.

First, the tour heads to Spain on June 6 before landing at the world famous Sachsenring in Germany on June 20 and then finally onto the crowd favourite in Assen for the Dutch GP on June 27.

Things are tightening up at the top of the riders’ championship with Frenchman Fabio Quartararo leading the way by a single point from Francesco Bagnaia in second place.

Back-to-back race wins for Jack Miller have propelled the Ducati man up to fourth just four points behind team-mate Johan Zarco while defending champion Joan Mir’s early season struggles have seen him slip to sixth.

Eight-time world champion Marc Marquez continues to step up his recovery from a serious arm injury and looked some way back to his thrilling best before crashing out at a wet Le Mans recently.

The 28-year-old will be desperate to secure at least a podium finish as soon as possible to restore some confidence in his riding following a nightmare year.

Can Marquez roar back into form in the coming weeks or will we continue to see surprises during another thrilling season of racing?

International cricket - West Indies v South Africa

The summer time can only mean one thing – cricket season!

While the weather is yet to arrive in gloomy old Britain, the sun never stops shining in the West Indies and that is where we’re heading in June to bring you coverage of South Africa’s tour of the Caribbean.

The first of two five-day tests begins on Thursday 10 June with the second scheduled to start on Friday 18 June.

Following a short few days’ rest, we’ll then bring you exclusive coverage of the five-game T20 series between the two teams.

Starting on Saturday 26 June, watch some of the biggest hitters in world cricket go toe-to-toe as preparations continue for the T20 World Cup scheduled for October and November.
