ESPN FC - Bayern Munich appoint Thomas Tuchel
Mar 26Atletico Madrid v Chelsea: Live stream, TV channel, kick-off time and how to watch the Champions League clash on BT Sport
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea face a tough test against Spanish league leaders Atletico Madrid in the last 16 first leg.
Chelsea face arguably the toughest test of England’s Champions League contenders against Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.
Thomas Tuchel has steadied the ship after Frank Lampard's dismissal, griding out results with a consistency that eluded his predecessor following a lavish summer spending splurge.
Atletico, meanwhile, have been in fine form in La Liga this season and will be full of confidence against Chelsea having seen off Liverpool at the same stage of the tournament last season.
The Spaniards are notoriously formidable over two legs and pose a significant threat to Chelsea’s hopes of reaching the last eight.
They beat the Londoners in the 2014 semi-final and have bolstered their attacking options by bringing in ex-Barcelona forward Luis Suarez.
However, the Blues won on their last visit to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in 2017 and will be eyeing an invaluable away goal in the Spanish capital.
