Istanbul Basaksehir 2-1 Man Utd - Watch Replay

Manchester United suffered a desperate 2-1 defeat to Turkish outfit Istanbul Basaksehir in Group H.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side conceded an embarrassing opening goal when former Chelsea and Newcastle striker Demba Ba ran clear and fired past Dean Henderson and their defence was exposed again when Edin Visca smashed home after 40 minutes.

Anthony Martial gave the visitors hope when he headed home minutes later but an insipid and ponderous United couldn’t break down a disciplined Basaksehir backline.

The shock defeat was United’s second in a row ahead of their trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on Saturday – exclusively live on BT Sport.

Zenit St Petersburg 1-1 Lazio - Watch Replay

Zenit and Lazio shared the spoils after a late Felipe Caicedo goal ensured the Italians came away from Russia with a point.

The home side took the lead in an entertaining encounter when Aleksandr Yerokhin and Artem Dzyuba linked up in the first half but their hopes of earning a first European win of the season were dashed when former Man City forward Caicedo came off the bench to score his first ever Champions League goal.

Zenit are bottom of Group F with one point from their first three matches, while Lazio remain unbeaten and are a good bet to qualify for the knockout stages.

Chelsea 3-0 Rennes - Watch Replay

Chelsea cruised to a 3-0 win against 10-man Rennes at Stamford Bridge to record a third straight win and extend their unbeaten run to 10 games.

Frank Lampard revealed that big money signing Kai Havertz was unavailable after contracting coronavirus pre-match, but his side had little trouble breaking down the Ligue 1 visitors at Stamford Bridge.

Their cause was assisted by VAR who controversially awarded the home side a penalty and sent off Dalbert for handball in the first half. Timo Werner bagged two penalties before the break and Tammy Abraham scored a superb second after 50 minutes to secure the victory.

The Blues top Group E after the win, while Rennes are rock bottom.

Thorgan Hazard opened the scoring after 14 minutes before Erling Haland continued his extraordinary goalscoring run in Europe with two more clinical finishes.

Lucien Favre’s side, who recorded their first win in five away Champions League matches, top Group F after the comprehensive win despite losing their opening match to Lazio.

Club Brugge can still reach the knockout stages despite defeat in one of the most fiercely contested groups in the competition.
