Long-suffering Fantasy Football managers know all too well the pain of trying to construct a title-winning squad with a measly £100 million budget.
Once you've shelled out on your Mohamed Salahs, Harry Kanes and Trent Alexander-Arnolds, you're left trying to cobble a side together with scraps.

Bargain goalkeepers
Robert Sanchez
Price: £4.5m
Brighton's number one is once again a popular budget option, with 14% ownership in early team drafts ahead of the new campaign.
Sanchez picked up 126 points in 2021/22, the joint-highest in Brighton's defensive line-up alongside Manchester City target Marc Cucurella.
Indeed only five players kept more clean sheets than Sanchez’s 11 behind centre-back duo Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy.
The Seagulls also kick-off the new season with a relatively favourable run of fixtures, facing only one of last season's top six in their first eight gameweeks.
Dean Henderson
Price: £4.5m
Having failed to oust David de Gea at Manchester United, Dean Henderson has the chance to show what he is made of at Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest after making a season-long loan move to the City Ground.
Forest's new number one is available at £4.5m as the newly-promoted outfit look to translate their stingey defensive record to the top flight.
Henderson banked 160 points in his debut Premier League season, from an identical starting price in 2019/20 while at Sheffield United, and will be part of a Forest backline that conceded just 0.74 goals per game under Steve Cooper last season.
Having slipped down the England pecking order in recent years, the highly-rated shot-stopper will be desperate to put his name back in contention with the 2022 World Cup just months away.
Bargain defenders
Tariq Lamptey
Price: £4.5m
Another Amex favourite.
Last season's hipster pick, a series of injuries meant Tariq Lamptey's game time proved limited as Brighton recorded their best-ever Premier League finish.
Now fully fit and with a full pre-season under his belt, Lamptey is ready to replicate the blistering form that made him such a must-have selection at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
Lamptey’s Seagulls open up away at Manchester United before a run of seven winnable games including home matches against Newcastle, Leeds, Leicester and Palace - plus visits to newly-promoted sides Fulham and Bournemouth.
Kyle Walker-Peters
Price: £4.5m
With a better Expected Assist rating than the likes of Aaron Cresswell, Matty Cash and Marc Cucurella, Walker-Peters flew under the radar before earning himself a deserved England call-up towards the tail-end of last season.
His 2,630 minutes were used productively, with one goal and three assists and 82 points to his name.
The former Spurs man was often exposed by Southampton's porous midfield but Ralph Hasenhuttl's five summer signings should shore up Saints' defensive fragility and give Walker-Peters fresh license to attack.
Bargain midfielders
Gabriel Martinelli
Price: £6.5m
Martinelli’s six league goals and seven assists last season were more than he had managed in his previous two Premier League campaigns combined.
He managed the second-most big chances, the second-highest xG per-game and created the joint-most big chances per-game of any Arsenal player.
His quantity of big chances per 90 minutes ranked seventh among midfielders and only three midfielders had more shots in the box per 90 minutes.
If the Brazilian can strike up a fruitful relationship with compatriot Gabriel Jesus, the 21-year-old could have a breakout season as Arsenal look to end their long wait to return to Champions League football.
Jacob Ramsey
Price: £5.5m
Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey enjoyed a breakthrough season last term with six goals in 35 games, but this could be the year he becomes a star.
His brace in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Leeds first made the Premier League stand up and take notice back in February.
"He will be a terrific player. It won't be long before the whole country is watching him. He is right up there," said Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard of his young charge, and it's not difficult to see why.
Both goals came from powerful, driving runs from midfield and cool finishes in echoes of a younger version of the Villa boss.
Expect the England under-21 international to make a flying start to the season as he bids to earn a place on the plane to Qatar.
Bargain forwards
Julian Alvarez
Price: £6.5m
With all the noise surrounding Haaland's move to Man City, the arrival of Julian Alvarez has gone relatively unnoticed.
Despite the lack of fanfare there is no less excitement about the diminutive Argentinian, who arrives in Manchester with a formidable reputation for a player of such tender years.
Aged 22, Alvarez put pen to paper on his City deal back in January but was immediately loaned back to River Plate where he would go on to score six goals, three in each half, in a Copa Libertadores tie back in May.
With Pep Guardiola's penchant for left-field selections, don't bet against Alvarez leading the line for City when they begin their title defence against West Ham.
No Gabriel Jesus and no Raheem Sterling means the X-factor forward could get plenty of Premier League minutes under his belt in his maiden campaign.
Aleksandar Mitrovic
Price: £6.5m
Can Mitrovic finally crack the big time?
The feisty Serbian enjoyed a record-breaking season for 2021/22 Championship winners Fulham, scoring 43 goals in 44 appearances to help seal the Cottagers' immediate return to the Premier League.
Marco Silva’s men were the first side in 20 years to score more than 100 goals in the Championship and Mitrovic was involved in 47 per cent of those strikes, having also supplied seven assists.
As the focal point of Silva’s 4-2-3-1 formation, his 198 shots and 138 attempts inside the penalty area were both more than any other player in the Championship making him a sensible budget pick to bolster your attack this season.
