The festive Premier League fixture schedule continued with a round of matches between Christmas and New Year's Day with 10 clashes spread across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night.
Matchday 16 was filled with tantalising ties including Manchester United's clash with Wolves at Old Trafford and champions Liverpool paying a visit to St James' Park to play Newcastle.

Crystal Palace 1-1 Leicester City
Crystal Palace ended their run of successive emphatic defeats with a commendable point against Leicester City at Selhurst Park.
The home side were unimpressive during the opening 45 minutes as the visiting Foxes dominated but came out of the blocks a much different team following a racuous half-time team talk by Palace assistant manager Ray Lewington.
They were rewarded for their endeavours when Wilfried Zaha opened the scoring shortly after the hour mark - but a fine strike by Harvey Barnes rescued a point for Leicester late on.
Chelsea 1-1 Aston Villa
Frank Lampard remains under pressure after watching his Chelsea side held to a draw by Dean Smith's impressive Aston Villa.
Villa have been the dark horses in the Premier League so far this season and they threatened to upset another top six side at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
Olivier Giroud had opened the scoring for Chelsea, burying a cross from Ben Chillwell in the 34th minute but Anwar El-Ghazi's fifth goal in five games cancelled out the Frenchman's strike.
It stayed 1-1 despite both sides enjoying chances to win - including Villa man John McGinn's long-range effort rattling the crossbar late on.
Everton P-P Manchester City
Manchester City's trip to Goodison Park became the second fixture casualty of the season after a 'significant increase' in the amount of positive coronavirus test results in the City camp over the last week.

Brighton 0-1 Arsenal
How quickly things can turn around in the Premier League!
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal edged out Brighton in a narrow contest at the Amex Stadium to secure successive wins for the first time this season.
Second-half substitute Alexandre Lacazette made sure of the points with a fine finish after his introduction but it was anything but comfortable for the visitors as they were made to work hard for the win by an organised Brighton outfit.
Burnley 1-0 Sheffield United
Two of the season's early relegation candidates clashed at Turf Moor on Tuesday night with Sean Dyche's Burnley taking the spoils against Sheffield United.
Chris Wilder's men remain winless and rooted to the foot of the table with just two points from 16 games thanks to Ben Mee's early header from a Josh Brownhill corner.
The result sees Burnely take a huge stride towards safety, five points clear of 18th-placed Fulham.
Southampton 0-0 West Ham United
Southampton manager Ralph Hassenhuttl was absent from this dour 0-0 after a member of his household tested positive for Covid-19 - although the Austrian will not have missed much.
Both sides looked leggy as a busy festive period appeared to catch up on two of the league's more consistent performers this season.
Hammers man Said Benhrama spurned the best chance of the match late on as his close range effort was saved by Saints stopper Alex McCarthy.
West Bromwich Albion 0-5 Leeds United
Leeds remain Box Office kings of the Premier League as they put West Brom to the sword in a magnificent 5-0 thumping at the Hawthorns.
The result will come as a wake-up call to Sam Allardyce's men after their impressive point away at Anfield as they shipped four during a remarkable opening 45 minutes.
Marcelo Bielsa's free-scoring outfit also kept back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season, lifting them into 11th in the Premier League table.
Manchester United 1-0 Wolves
Marcus Rashford's 93rd-minute winner sent Manchester United into dreamland as they saw off Wolves at Old Trafford in dramatic fashion.
The game looked to be heading for a stalemate with both sides missing chances throughout a relatively drab affair.
But the England striker snatched the headlines after his effort deflected in off Wolves defender Roman Saiss to move United second in the Premier League table.
Wednesday 30 December
Tottenham P-P Fulham
The Premier League match between Tottenham and Fulham has been postponed after a coronavirus outbreak at the west London club.
The Cottagers returned a number of positive test results on Tuesday and, after more came in on Wednesday, the Premier League decided to call the match off less than three hours before the scheduled 6pm kick-off.
It becomes the third top-flight game to be wiped out by the virus, following Newcastle’s match with Aston Villa earlier this month and Monday’s game between Everton and Manchester City.
Newcastle 0-0 Liverpool
Mohamed Salah endured a miserable evening on Tyneside as battling Newcastle fought their way to a goalless draw with Premier League champions Liverpool.
The Egypt international missed the target either side of half-time with just keeper Karl Darlow to beat, and strike-partner Roberto Firmino, who saw two headers superbly saved, was similarly profligate at St James’ Park.
Three days after lowly West Brom struck late to snatch a point at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp’s men – who have now won only two of their eight league away games this season – were frustrated once again, although it took a late goal-line clearance from Fabian Schar and Darlow’s brilliance to keep them at bay.
