Premier League TV picks: Merseyside derby among 17 games coming to BT Sport before the end of September

The Premier League campaign gets off to a flyer on BT Sport with viewers set to be treated to 17 games exclusively live over the opening weeks of the season.

Headlined by a cracking Merseyside derby at the start of September, our TV picks for the first eight gameweeks include a full midweek round of fixtures that will see every team feature across the BT Sport network.

Aston Villa vs Everton follows on from our opening week showdown between Fulham and Liverpool on BT Sport with former England midfield comrades Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard going head-to-head in the dugout for the first time in the Premier League.

The Villans have recruited impressively over the summer with the big name additions of Boubacar Kamara and Diego Carlos and will be looking to steal a march on an Everton side looking to avoid a repeat of last season's relegation dogfight.

On Matchday 3, it's Tottenham Hotspur who feature in the lunchtime kick-off as they face Wolves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs manager Antonio Conte's decision to remain in north London this summer was rewarded with a substantial transfer kitty from chairman Daniel Levy and the Italian coach wasted no time in recruiting the likes of the Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic to bolster Spurs' ambitions of silverware.

Wolves, meanwhile, will want to show ambition to emulate a solid season under new manager Bruno Lage having finished 10th in the league last year.

On Saturday 27th August, Southampton welcome Manchester United to St Mary's looking to inflict early damage on Erik ten Hag's Red Devils rebuild.

Both the Saints and Red Devils have looked to be active in the transfer window so far with further incoming and outgoings expected before two much-changed sides meet on Matchday 4 of the new season on BT Sport.

Then we've got a biggie for you on Matchday 5 with every single game during an unusually early round of midweek fixtures exclusively live on BT Sport.

We'll bring you four games on Tuesday 30th August, including Leeds vs Everton, followed by five on Wednesday 31st, featuring Liverpool vs Newcastle United.

Leicester City vs Manchester United closes out Matchday 5 on Thursday 1st September - transfer deadline day - with our team bringing you up to date with all the last minute movers and shakers across the top flight before the window slams shut at 11pm. 

Everton and Liverpool fans can circle Saturday 3rd September in the diary as one of the league's oldest rivalries resumes when the Merseyside derby kicks off exclusively live on BT Sport.

Frank Lampard's men welcome Jurgen Klopp's title hopefuls to Goodison Park looking to pick up a win in front of the Toffees fans in this fixture for the first time in almost 12 years.

On Matchday 7 there's another derby coming your way too as newly-promoted Fulham take on west London neighbours Chelsea.

And Wolves return to BT Sport on Matchday 8 in the lunchtime kick-off when they take on Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
