Mar 26WRC Monza: Buckle up for thrilling season finale as Britain’s Elfyn Evans bids for maiden world title
Welshman Evans is in pole position to be crowned the first British World Rally champion since Richard Burns in 2001. Watch every stage of the final race of the season on BT Sport.
With one race to go in an unprecedented WRC season Welshman Elfyn Evans stands on the brink of glory.
The unassuming 31-year-old from Dolgellau in north-west Wales is in pole position to become Britain’s first WRC champion since Richard Burns 19 years ago and only the third British driver to win the title (alongside Burns and the legendary Colin McRae).
Evans is 14 points clear at the top of the standings but he has six-time champion Sebastien Ogier hot on his heels.
Thierry Neuville and defending champion Ott Tänak are also in with a shout of usurping Evans as the season reaches an unmissable climax at the iconic Monza circuit in northern Italy.
With 25 points for the winners and bonus points available, Evans and co-driver Scott Martin need to score a minimum 17 to be crowned champions on Sunday.
So buckle up for what could be another historic weekend for British motorsport as the 2020 WRC season concludes on BT Sport.
