Leicester Tigers edged a thrilling game over an ill-disciplined London Irish side at Welford Road.

Paddy Jackson gave the Exiles the dream start when he scored after 40 seconds but the sides were level at the break after the hosts fought back.

Terrence Hepetema was dismissed for the visitors after a dangerous tackle and Kini Murimurivalu went over to seal the victory, although Matt Cornish scored to secure two bonus points late on for Irish.

Sale brushed Newcastle aside at AJ Bell Stadium to make it two successive wins in the Premiership.

Marland Yarde opened the scoring and Lood de Jager touched down after a remarkable offload from AJ MacGinty to put the hosts in control.

Joel Matavesi got the Falcons’ only try but Simon Hammersley crossed over to move Alex Sanderson’s side up to second in the table.

Crisis, what crisis?

Champions Exeter Chiefs recorded their biggest-ever win at The Rec as they fought back from 13-0 down to claim a comfortable bonus-point win.

Having suffered back-to-back defeats coming into this one, Rob Baxter’s men showed all their quality and determination to beat an in-form Bath, who were searching for a fourth successive victory.

The hosts got off to a good start when Ruaridh McConnochie climbed highest to collect Rhys Priestland’s inch-perfect cross-field kick, but that was as good as it got.

The first of the Chiefs’ six tries came from a training ground line out, with Tom O'Flaherty crashing over before Sam Simmonds got his customary score before the break.

It was in the second half where the European champions took the game away from Bath, with O'Flaherty rounding off the scoring after Sam Skinner’s double and Jonny Gray’s close-range finish. 

Wasps 19-20 Gloucester

A last-gasp penalty from Billy Twelvetrees sees Gloucester pick up their second straight victory, as Wasps’ poor form continues.

Santiago Socino dotted down at the back of a perfectly-executed maul from their own lineout to help the visitors take an early lead.

Ollie Thorley then saw red on 29 minutes for a head-on-head collision, but the Cherry & Whites’ lead grew with Chris Harris’ try handing them a 17-0 lead at the break.

But Wasps fought back valiantly in the second half, much like they did against Northampton Saints a few weeks ago, but again ultimately came up short.

Tries from James Gaskell, Rob Miller and Josh Bassett gave them a two-point advantage with 10 minutes to go, before former England international Twelvetrees showed nerves of steel to kick the match-winning points.

Worcester Warriors 23-24 Bristol Bears

Saturday afternoon's final game produced another nail-biting finish as table-topping Bristol Bears edged out Worcester Warriors.

A late Siva Naulago try and a superb touchline conversion from Callum Sheedy denied Worcester a first Premiership victory since November in a pulsating encounter at Sixways.

Naulago twice crossed the whitewash in the first half to give the visitors a 10-0 lead but Francois Venter's try and two Billy Searle penalties then put Warriors ahead.

The Fijian winger went over in the corner for his hat-trick seven minutes from time before Welsh fly-half Sheedy repeated Six Nations goal-kicking heroics from seven days earlier to nail the all-important extras and secure a dramatic come-from-behind victory for Pat Lam's side.

Harlequins and Northampton Saints conclude our coverage of round 12 as both teams look to put last weekend's heartbreak behind them.

Northampton squandered a 16-point lead at Franklin's Gardens as their recent resurgence ended with an agonising defeat to Bath.

The hosts had taken a 12-0 lead inside the first 20 minutes as Tommy Freeman and Tom James both crossed the whitewash to give Saints the perfect start.

But Bath fought their way back into the contest early in the second half as a Zach Mercer try and two penalties from the boot of Rhys Priestland made it a three-point game. 

Piers Francis kicked a 64th-minute penalty to give the hosts a six-point cushion going into the final quarter at Franklin's Gardens but Bath rallied to stage a remarkable comeback.

Mercer bagged his second try of the game to reduce the deficit to one point before captain Priestland kicked the extras to make it 23-22, as Northampton tasted Premiership defeat for the first time since early December.

Harlequins suffered their first defeat of the year at the hands of Newcastle Falcons, with former Quins boss Dean Richards recording a heart-stopping win over his old club.

The 25-22 loss was the first under the temporary leadership of Billy Millard and the London outfit know victory at the Stoop is a must if they have any hope of leapfrogging Exeter into second place and securing an all-important home semi-final in the play-offs.
