HBO’s groundbreaking new Sex and the City TV series And Just Like That is coming soon to the UK on Sky Comedy and NOW, after a 17-year absence from the small screen.

Fans of the original series will no doubt be eagerly anticipating the return of the Carrie and friends, so we’ve rounded up everything we know about And Just Like That so far.

What is And Just Like That about?

And Just Like That will pick up events after the original Sex and the City series and films.

Set in New York City, the new series will follow Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.

The original Sex And The City series ran from 1998 to 2004, and followed the lives of its female characters who, despite very different natures and sex lives, were best friends and confided in each other. 

The TV show spawned two spin-off films - the self-titled Sex and the City (2008) and Sex and the City 2 (2010).

Sex and the City was created by Darren Star and based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell.

Who’s in the cast of And Just Like That?

• Sarah Jessica Parker returns! She stars as Carrie Bradshaw

• Kristin Davis stars as Charlotte York-Goldenblatt

• Cynthia Nixon stars as Miranda Hobbes

• Nicole Ari Parker stars as Lisa Todd Wexley

• Sarita Choudhury stars as Seema Patel

• Karen Pittman stars as Dr Nya Wallace

• Sara Ramirez stars as Che Diaz

• Isaac Cole Powell stars as George

   

Chris Noth is also back as Mr Big, below.

Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, Willie Garson, and Evan Handler also star.

Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha, will not feature in the new series. Her character is rumoured to have moved to London.

And Just Like That is available to watch weekly on Sky Comedy with a NOW Entertainment Membership from Thursday, December 9 at 9pm.

It starts with a double bill and will consist of 10 half-hour episodes.
