What is Modern Love based on?

Modern Love is based on the weekly column in The New York Times, and podcast, that explore the joys and tribulations of love.

The column has headlines like ‘He’s Your Destiny. Just Be Patient’, ‘Alexa? Please Ignore My Husband’ and ‘It’s Not You, It’s Men.’

According to Vogue, one of the show’s stories is the “14-year-long and staggeringly tumultuous” relationship of Justin McLeod - the creator of dating app 'Hinge' - and his now-wife.

"Since its launch 14 years ago, Modern Love has struck a chord with readers that has only deepened with time," said Sam Dolnick, assistant managing editor at The New York Times.

"It remains one of our most popular columns both online and in print; it has become a successful weekly podcast; and the first Modern Love events last year were hits with live audiences.

“And now we are thrilled that Modern Love will become a TV show on Amazon."
