Following four different characters on an adventure into a world behind the curtain of everyday life, the series is an enchanting mixture of hope, surrealism, romance and magic.
Here is our guide to the cast and characters in the 10-part series on AMC, the drama channel exclusive to BT TV.
Peter (played by Jason Segel)

Peter is a regular guy who feels he’s living a meaningless life, without joy or pain. On this journey, he learns to wake up, to take risks, to enjoy life and to feel and be emotionally vulnerable. His key relationship is with Simone.
You'll know Jason Segel from his performances in the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother, blockbuster comedies such as This Is 40, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Muppets.
He got his breakout role in the critically acclaimed Judd Apatow comedy TV series Freaks and Geeks.
Simone (Eve Lindley)

Simone has spent her whole life feeling like she was invited by mistake and her insecurities regarding not fitting in and not feeling comfortable within herself constantly serve as roadblocks to progression.
As she makes a huge life change, she still struggles with the feelings of belonging and acceptance that she is hoping for. Her key relationship is with Peter.
A relative newcomer among the cast, Eve’s biggest role before this series was as Hot Carla in Mr Robot. Her other credits include Katie Holmes’ All We Had, the Netflix series Tales of the City and HBO’s High Maintenance.
Janice (Sally Field)

Janice is a former homemaker, now empty-nester, whose husband of 30 years is in a hospice. She has begun to realise that nothing lasts forever and that her life didn’t turn out the way she thought it would. As she’s beginning to question what life is without her partner, she needs to reclaim her identity. Her key relationship is with Fredwynn.
Sally Field has had an incredible five-decade career that has included two Academy Awards and three Emmys. Her vast back catalogue of great movies includes Lincoln, Places in the Heart, Norma Rae, Forest Gump, Steel Magnolias, Kiss Me Goodbye, Mrs Doubtfire and Smokey and the Bandit.
Fredwynn (André Benjamin)

Fredwynn is an obsessive conspiracy theorist who is always trying to solve the puzzle. He’s ambitious to the point of having no real personal relationships and needs to learn to let people in and express empathy. His key relationship is with Janice.
Better known as André 3000, André is one half of the iconic hip-hop legends Outkast. His acting career has won critical acclaim with roles In the Jimi Hendrix film All is By My Side, Four Brothers, High Life and the TV series American Crime.
Octavio Coleman (Richard E. Grant)

The unique and forever elusive narrator who shares key details about the four main characters as he guides us all on this adventure.
Much-loved British actor Richard E Grant has a dazzling list of films and roles in his CV from Bruce Robinson’s classic comedy Withnail And I to an Oscar-nominated performance in Can You Ever Forgive Me? He also starred in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker as General Pryde, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, HBO’s Girls, Marvel’s Logan and Disney’s The Nutcracker.
Dispatches From Elsewhere premieres on Wednesday, April 29 with a double-bill on AMC.
