Don’t be fooled by any cute baby pictures, The Baby is here to give you chills.
A darkly funny story of motherhood told from the perspective of a woman who doesn’t want to be a mum, this limited series is a twisted treat.
Coming this July to Sky Atlantic on NOW, the series follows the story of 38-year-old Natasha (Michelle De Swarte) who is growing increasingly cross with all her close friends for having children.
When a baby of her own unexpectedly lands in Natasha’s life, things take a sinister turn as her life dramatically implodes.
It may be incredibly cute, but the controlling and manipulative baby turns Natasha’s life into a surreal horror show.
As she discovers the true extent of the baby’s deadly nature, Natasha makes increasingly desperate attempts to get rid of it. She doesn’t want a baby, but the baby definitely wants her.

The Baby reviews - why you should watch the comedy horror series

The Baby has already aired in the US on HBO and was given a warm critical reception with a 82% average score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Time magazine review said: "The Baby isn’t subtle. It isn’t polite. It’s sometimes extremely silly. And its unusual juxtaposition of a darling baby boy and heaps of bloody, gory violence surely will not appeal to everyone.
“But if you can live with all of the above, it’s more than just fun - it’s also a whole lot smarter and more thought-provoking than most of the shows sucking up all the attention this month.”
Meanwhile, The Globe and Mail heaped praise on the cast.
“There’s a lot to admire here. De Swarte is utterly compelling as the in-charge and exasperated woman who is never, ever going to fall for this baby’s charms. At the same time, she’s not willing to either abandon or kill it. It’s complicated,” reads the review.
“There is also wonderful work from Amber Grappy as Natasha’s terrifically innocent sister Bobbi and from veteran Sinead Cusack as Barbara, the mother who abandoned Bobbi and Natasha.
“The script by Sian Robins-Grace and Lucy Gaymer manages to nail down that peculiar hybrid of horror and social comedy that’s necessary in order to serve up the ghoulishness that’s beneath the central figure – the baby – and its beatific cuteness.”
