What happens in Crime?
Crime is based on the best-selling 2008 novel by Irvine Welsh, and it’s the sequel to Filth which was previously adapted for film although it features a different detective.

DI Ray Lennox is battling personal demons from drink and drug addiction, and a child murder case he previously worked on.
But when he’s put onto investigating the disappearance of a schoolgirl, Lennox must try to put his own problems aside in his search for the truth.
Welsh has adapted the screenplay himself and after several film adaptaions, this will be the first time his work has been made into a TV series.
Who is in the cast?
Heading up the cast is Dougray Scott as DI Lennox. Scott is best known for his roles in Mission: Impossible 2, My Week with Marilyn, and Batwoman.
Scott said: “Irvine Welsh is one of Scotland’s greatest ever writers and I am proud and excited to be working on his first adaptation for television. It’s an honour to be working with such a talented cast, and creative team.”

Appearing alongside him will be Joanna Vanderham (Warrior, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) as DS Amanda Drummond, Angela Griffin (Harlots, White Lines) as Trudi Lowe, Ken Stott (The Dig, Fortitude) as Chief Superintendent Bob Toal and Jamie Sives (Guilt, Too Close) as Detective Inspector Dougie Gillman.
