Channel 4 Celebrity Bake Off 2020

The Great British Bake Off may have moved to Channel 4, but it’s continuing the tradition of supporting charity by swapping the BBC’s Comic Relief and Sport Relief specials for Stand Up To Cancer for the third year with its current broadcaster.

We’ll see 20 famous would-be bakers donning their aprons and heading to the Bake Off tent to face the judgment of Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, while Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig return to present.

Find out all you need to know about Celebrity Bake Off, including who is taking part.

When does Celebrity Bake Off air?

The charity special will run over five episodes, with four celebrities competing each time to impress with their cakes and bakes.

The series started on Tuesday, March 10 on Channel 4 and will continue Tuesdays at 8pm on the channel until the final episode on Tuesday, April 7.

Who are the celebrities taking part?

EPISODE ONE

Louis Theroux

Quirky documentary maker Louis is used to dealing with some tricky customers, so he’s unlikely to be psyched out by Paul Hollywood.

His famous TV shows have included Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends, When Louis Met, which included an episode with the now-disgraced late broadcaster Jimmy Savile, and various documentaries in America including a look at US prisons.

Jenny Éclair (Star Baker)

With a name like Éclair, there’s always going to be extra pressure on your shoulders in a baking contest, so comedian and presenter Jenny could be a dark horse in the competition.

She’s previously taken part in Celebrity MasterChef so has some experience in a pressured kitchen, and has also tried her hand at I’m a Celebrity, Splash!, and Comic Relief Does Fame Academy.

Ovie Soko

Ex-Love Islander Ovie turned heads in the villa over the summer, but that certainly didn’t look like a body that had been treated to a lifetime of cake.

Tune in later this year to find out whether Prue will be falling for his baking skills, or dumping him from the tent.

Russell Howard

Another comedian who’ll be hoping not to raise any laughs for once is Russell, who joins the cast of amateur bakers for 2020.

He’s best known for The Russell Howard Hour and Russell Howard’s Good News – but will it be good news when he makes his way to Paul and Prue’s judging bench?

EPISODE TWO

Richard Dreyfuss

The 72-year-old US actor is the oldest baker in the tent this year, but with age comes experience.

He is best known for The Goodbye Girl, which he won the Best Actor Oscar for, Mr Holland’s Opus, Jaws, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

James Buckley (Star Baker)

One of our favourite Inbetweeners wouldn’t be caught dead baking during his time as Jay, but while the actor, might have grown out of his teenage ways, has he grown into a skilled baker?

He might not have his fwends in the tent for support, but they’re sure to be cheering him on at home.

Patsy Palmer

Fresh out of The Masked Singer, this time there's nowhere to hide for Patsy as she faces off against the other bakers.

The actress is best known for her long-running role as Bianca in EastEnders, but these days resides in LA where she might well have picked up some healthy baking tips.

Scarlett Moffatt

It’s unlikely that anyone in this year’s batch of celebrity bakers has watched more Bake Off than Gogglebox star Scarlett, who can count tuning in to the series as part of her job description.

As a former Queen of the Jungle, she’s had lots of experience rustling up something edible under tough conditions, so she could be one to watch.

EPISODE THREE

Johanna Konta

Britain’s number one tennis player Johanna is used to success on the court, but will she be able to serve up a win in the tent?

We’re hoping to see something Wimbledon-themed, especially if it involves strawberries and cream.

Caroline Quentin

Actress Caroline is best known to viewers for her work on the hit series Men Behaving Badly and Jonathan Creek.

She’s no stranger to a TV detective drama, but will she be able to solve the mystery of how to win Star Baker?

Joel Dommett

Comedian Joel is an I’m a Celebrity runner-up, so he’s used to tough competition – but also to eating all manner of disgusting things.

Joel became better known to TV viewers recently when he took on the presenting role on hit series The Masked Singer.

Tan France (Star Baker)

Since the relaunch of Queer Eye, Tan has become a TV favourite as one of the glam squad who transform men not quite living their best lives yet.

But Tan’s skills lie in the wardrobe department – sure, he’ll look fantastic for the Bake Off, but has he picked up any cooking tips from his day job?

EPISODE FOUR

Joe Sugg (Star Baker)

The life of a YouTuber involves being game for anything, so Joe is sure to give his all to the show and may even have learnt a thing or two from his baking star social media pals.

He surprised us all by making the final of Strictly – could he pull off a win this time and be crowned Star Baker?

James Blunt

Perhaps singer-songwriter James is hoping to distract the competition by crooning his way through each of the challenges.

He’s a former military man, so we’re expecting to see him keep his cool under pressure, no matter how terrifying the judges.

Alex Jones

The One Show presenter Alex has recently returned to TV from her second maternity leave, and is jumping right back into work with a crack at Bake Off.

Fearless Alex has taken part in two Sport Relief challenges as well as Strictly, so surely Paul and Prue will be no match for her.

Alison Hammond

Former Big Brother contestant Alison has made a career out of being game for anything life throws at her, including a stint in the jungle for I’m a Celebrity.

In her presenting role on This Morning, she’s managed to bond with diva Mariah Carey and even get a laugh out of stony-faced Harrison Ford – will Paul Hollywood succumb to her charms?

EPISODE FIVE

Rob Rinder

He’s usually the one doing the judging as he presides over daytime TV show Judge Rinder, but this time Rob will be at the mercy of the tent’s toughest critics.

The lawyer has had some experience of reality contests in Strictly and is usually known for keeping his cool in any situation.

Kelly Brook

Actress, model and presenter Kelly is a woman of many talents, and we’re about to find out whether baking is another thing she can add to her list.

She’s comfortable in a reality TV role, having competed in Strictly and briefly been a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, but her cooking skills are an unknown entity.

Mo Gilligan

Comedians are always popular in Bake Off as they help lighten the mood in pressure-filled challenges, but will Mo produce something laughable, or be laughing all the way to the Star Baker apron collection point?

He’s best known for The Big Narstie Show and The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan.

Carol Vorderman

Former Countdown star Carol has had a crack at pretty much everything – Strictly, I’m a Celebrity, even getting her pilot’s license.

As a maths supremo, there should be no confusing measurements or timings where she is concerned.

What is Stand Up To Cancer?
