Peter Crouch gets Year Late Euros entertainment show: When does it start? Who are the presenters?

Former England striker and podcast hero Peter Crouch is back stronger for the biggest party of the summer on BBC One – Crouchy’s Year Late Euros: Live.

The series will reunite Crouch with his Save Our Summer co-presenters Alex Horne and Maya Jama for an entertainment show that airs alongside the BBC’s coverage of Euro 2020.

The postponed football tournament kicks off in June 2021 and will feature England, Scotland and Wales.

Mixing match reviews with celebrity guests and live music from Alex Horne, the show is intended to kick off a summer party for the nation on BBC One.

When does Crouchy’s Year Late Euros: Live start?

The series starts tonight (Friday, June 11th) at 10:55pm on BBC One and will be available on BBC iPlayer.

Who are the presenters?

Peter Crouch is a former England, Liverpool, Tottenham Hostpur and Portsmouth striker, who scored 22 goals for England and played at World Cup 2006 and 2010.

He’s married to model and Strictly Come Dancing winner Abbey Clancy and has become a podcasting sensation with That Peter Crouch Podcast.

Last summer he co-presented BBC One’s Peter Crouch Saves our Summer series.

Maya Jama is a TV and radio presenter, who is currently hosting series 3 of Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star.

She’s best known for her work on Radio 1 and she also co-presented Saves our Summer last year.

Alex Horne is a musician and comedian, who co-presents Channel 4’s smash hit series Taskmaster.

His band The Horne Section have appeared on series such as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and The Last Leg.

Who are the guests?

Peter, Maya and Alex will be joined on the first show by comedian and presenter Rob Beckett, former Arsenal and England captain Tony Adams and Welsh superstar Mezzo Soprano Katherine Jenkins.

They will look ahead to the Wales v Switzerland game on Saturday and Peter catches up with Jack Grealish, over a game of ten pin bowling.

Plus Peter catches up with Euro legend Thierry Henry, as they discuss their earliest memories of the European championships, and their stand out moments from across the years.

“This tournament has been a long time coming but it’s finally here! Maya, Alex and myself can’t wait for the games to start and for the nation to go Euros crazy,” said Peter Crouch. 

“We will be dissecting the highs and lows of the action, plus having a chat to loads of top guests.  Whatever the outcome, we will be having a good laugh along the way with a surprise or two for sure! Honestly, I can’t wait.”

Maya Jama said: "I’m super excited to be a part of this show, I have always been a football fan so I am thrilled to be in amongst the action for the Euros this year. Expect lots of laughs, celebrity guests and of course the latest on the biggest games this summer!"

Alex Horne added: “The Horne Section and I are thrilled to be the musical backbone of this genuinely unique and unpredictable live animal.

“Peter Crouch has been my hero for 15 years, Maya Jama is a superstar and I am a mild-mannered bandleader with a motley troupe of absurdly talented musicians at my disposal - if those aren't the ingredients for a delicious post-football entertainment dish then we're all doomed.”

Euro 2020 kicks off on Friday, June 11 and the final takes place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, July 11, 2021.

The tournament is celebrating its 60th anniversary and games will be held across Europe to mark the occasion.
