Strictly’s Oti Mabuse is giving dance lessons for pre-schoolers on CBeebies
Oti’s Boogie Beebies is a new lockdown TV series for parents looking to keep their pre-school children active in the home.
Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse is getting the nation ready for a day of lockdown with daily dance lessons on Cbeebies.
Helping parents and pre-school children who are currently looking for ways to keep up physical activity without spending as much time outdoors, the Boogie Beebies show will have a different dance routine to learn every day.
Filmed in Oti’s own living room, the steps are simple so anybody can take part and get their own dance tuition from a Strictly pro.
Each five minute episode will begin with Oti demonstrating a warm-up before she introduces new moves that take viewers on an exciting and different adventure each day including, swimming under the sea moving like a fish or heading into the jungle and wriggling like creepy crawlies.
“Boogie Beebies is the perfect start to any pre-schoolers day with fun, energetic and simple routines suitable for all abilities,” said Oti.
“I can’t wait for children and grown-ups to take part in the dances and join me on CBeebies for a morning boogie”.
Who is Oti Mabuse?
South African-born Oti has been dancing since she was a child. The 26-year-old studied Civil Engineering at university, but has made a career out of her passion – dancing. In fact, Oti’s mother set up a dance school in Pretoria, South Africa, so Oti and her sisters – as well as other children – could learn to dance.
Oti has gone on to achieve many titles in her dancing career, including World European Latin semi-finalist and World Cup Championship semi-finalist. Indeed, Latin dancing is her speciality – Oti is an eight-time South African Latin American Champion.
Oti joined Strictly in 2015 and she is known for her complex, dynamic choreography. She won Strictly 2019 with Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher.
She was one of the celebrity mentors for two series of BBC competition The Greatest Dancer, alongside Cheryl Cole and Matthew Morrison.
